#1 Nassau, Bahamas
Nassau, the Capital of the Bahamas, has something to offer everyone. Since there are usually 4 or 5 cruise ships in Nassau everyday, the port area always has a lot going on. There are many local shops, stores, and a straw market all within walking distance of your ship.
Bahamas is home to Atlantis. This luxury resort is located on Paradise Island. Taxis & ferries from the straw market can take you there for a small fee. Atlantis has its own beautiful beach, aquarium known as The Dig, and a waterpark unlike anything ever made, called Aquaventure. It offers a number of waterslides, one with a tube that goes through the center of a shark tank. As well as relaxation on a tube floating down their lazy river, any many pools to cool off in. Another attraction Atlantis offers is Dolphin Cay. At Dolphin Cay you can swim the dolphins, snorkel & have a hands on encounter with stingrays. Inside Atlantis is just as much fun. They have a casino, a museum, bars & lounges, and much more. There is just a ton of stuff to do! A short 10 minute walk along the beach will bring you to Cabbage Beach which has beautiful turquoise water & soft sand.
Junkanoo Beach is a public beach that is a 10 minute walk from the port. A favorite among many is the pirate museum, as well as Senior Frogs, where you can grab a bite to eat, a drink and have some fun dancing.
Some other great activities that are available in Nassau are parasailing, catamaran snorkeling trips, diving, glass bottom boat tours and the SUB adventure, an undersea experience in your own personal sub that lets you explore to depths of 15 feet.
#2 Cozumel, Mexico
Cozumel Mexico is a small island off the coast of Mexico. You can enjoy souviner shopping and food and drinks at the port. Taxis are always available and waiting to take you to your excursion destination.
A popular excursion for cruise passengers is to visit one of the many beach clubs for a day of fun in the sun. Playa San Francisco & Mr. Sanchos are a couple, but my personal favorite is Nachi Cocom. As far as beach club excursions go, this is quite an economically sound choice for what you are offered. Nachi Cocom is right on the beach, has swimming pool with swim up bar and hot tub. Lunch is served in 4 courses and you can drink as much as you'd like as it is already included in the price of admission. Mas Tequila! You can also sign up for activities like snorkeling & massages for an added fee.
Another great place in Cozumel is Paradise Beach. Located 5 miles south from the International Cruise Ship Pier, Paradise Beach has crystal clear tranquil water and soft white sands, Just Another beautiful day in Paradise! All new facilities, changing areas, bar and one of the biggest pools in Cozumel. Lounge chair rental is only $2 USD.
#3 St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands
St. Thomas is popular for shopping with 50 shops in port. Don't forget to take the St. Thomas Sky Ride to Paradise Point for a breath taking view, a perfect photo opportunity. Sapphire Beach is a pretty white sand beach on the eastern side of St. Thomas. There is a water sports booth that offers wind surfing, kayaks and snorkel gear rental, as well as chair rentals. At the nearby marina you can rent jet skis or go parasailing. Sapphire is a great beach for relaxing and for enjoying water sports. A shallow rocky ledge and reefs on the right side offer good snorkeling. Food and drinks are available from a a small open air grill, drink vendor and from the nearby condo restaurant. Sapphire Beach Resort, Condos and Marina are all within walking distance of the Sapphire Beach shoreline.
To the west of Saphire Beach is Magens Bay. It’s hailed as one of the world's most beautiful beaches. This breathtaking bay along St. Thomas' rugged north coast is ideal for swimming and snorkeling with all the conveniences of parking, lifeguards, equipment rental, freshwater showers, restaurants and bars. Plenty to do during your visit.
#4 Isla Roatan, Honduras
Mahogany Bay is the latest project for Carnival Cruise Lines. There are two theme bars, a restaurant and several shops. At the transportation hub you will find taxis, rental cars tour buses, and shore excursion tours. It’s a great place to do parasailing because of the picturesque scenery.
If your smart enough to avoid over paying your cabfare, as they tend to try and overcharge here, you’ll find dozens of good excursions on this island such as zip-lining and fishing. They even have a mall.
#5 Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
On the west side of Grand Cayman you will find the famous Seven Mile Beach, the crescent-shaped natural wonder with boundless capacity for relaxation. With sand stretching as far as the eye can see, Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach is often rated as one of the most beautiful beaches in all the Caribbean - and the least populated.
Other popular attractions include the Cayman Islands National Museum, Rum Point, Pedro St. James, Bodden Town, the first capital of the Cayman Islands, Cayman Turtle Farm, and the National’s Trusts Mastic Trail, a 2 mile traditional footpath through unspoiled woodlands.
